Using Function Keys
Function keys play an important part in user navigation in Pronto Pedders IQ, although you can use other methods, and do not have to strictly use F keys, they provide quick functionality to processes and shortcuts for the user.
F1, Help function key,
Pressing F1 when in a field opens a help menu in a new browser tab, it provides the user with an article related to the field the user was in, the user can also navigate in the help area to other sections if required.
F2, Look Up, search function,
Pressing F2 Search when in a field opens a Data Grid to enable a search for a Supplier, Customer, Inventory and other tables,
F3. A shortcut method of executing a command
F3 is predominantly used by System Admin roles. It is not used by a normal everyday user.
F4. Confirm to accept changes on the screen
F4 is very similar to using the Enter key, however F4 can put the user further in the process they may require, practice F4 to make sure it is good for your daily process you carry out
F5. Report manager
F5 creates a native report from different locations in the system, the report can be hard copy printed if required, when f5 is used, you may get one of two screens, the first option shown
Using the second option
First option result - Select Show
The Native report is shown
Second option result after clicking Show
F5 Report Can also be used in lines mode when in Sales Orders and Purchase Orders
Data grid reports can also be raised in lines mode when in Sales Orders and Purchase Orders using the Data Grid Report function icon, click on the Data Grid Report icon, the native report will be now seen
F8 - Exit all functions and log out of current session,
F8 Works very much like escape key, escape is often used to help in the functionality of process, F8 goes further than this removing the user from the screen/session they are I totally.
F9 - Display info about that task
F9 provides a screen shot of the session the user is in, this function will mostly be used when a user requires remote support from Pronto, the customer service operator usually requires this information to assist the user.
F10 – Shortcut to favourites
F10 takes the user directly to their favourite’s module menu, e.g. if the use is in a header field processing a Sales Order, F10 will exit the user out of that screen and take them directly to their favourite’s menu
