SharePoint: Sharing Files / Folders
If you
have access to the folder, You can share these files yourself.
- Navigate to the folder/file
you wish to share:
- Select the folder as
shown above.
- Select the folder with
the arrow (Share this item with other people).
- In the Share Box, Enter
the username (email address) of the person you are sending it to.
- Select from the listed
items.
- Select the eye icon on
the right-hand side of the box.
- Select the appropriate
permission from the drop-down menu:
- Can Edit: The user can make changes to the document and can
download the document.
- Can View: They
can read the document and download it however they cannot make changes to
the document.
- Can’t Download: They can read the file but not
edit or download it.
- Add a message so they know
what the file is about.
- Select Invite.
- A Message box will
appear.
- The user will get an
email similar to this:
- They select open and
book mark the page or add it to a favourite in SharePoint
